The Traveling Gavel

Objective:
To encourage visitation between lodges. Visiting Brothers
can take the Traveling Gavel to their home lodge if they
conform to the Rules of Engagement below.
(The Traveling Gavel has the following inscription)

Rules of Engagement:
1. Hiram 42 is the owner of the Traveling Gavel
and is responsible for the maintenance
of the gavel as well as the policy concerning the administration of the
Traveling Gavel
Program.
2. The Host Lodge is the lodge where the Traveling Gavel is
presently located.
3. The Visiting Lodge is the lodge, desirous of obtaining the
Traveling Gavel.
4. A Visiting Lodge from Group 1, District 10
(Calhoun County) may take the
Traveling Gavel to their home lodge if they visit the Host Lodge with a
minimum of five Master Mason members.
5. The visit must occur on stated meeting
nights of the Host Lodge, when no work is
scheduled.
6. The Worshipful Master of the
Host Lodge will formally present the Traveling Gavel to
the ranking Master Mason of the Visiting Lodge.
